Job Description Perform Software-level testing of kernel bootloaders, Linux kernel services and peripheral drivers as well as various GUI applications. Develop test plans and C test code to perform low-level software testing of driver functionalities. Develop automation test suites to support ongoing software regression.
Education Requirement or Equivalent:
Responsibilities •Review design and unit test documentation, developing both manual and automated test suites for testing Linux peripheral software drivers ((Ethernet, GigE, USB, PCI, IPSEC, etc.) •Working closely with Software and Hardware Engineering for problem analysis and resolution •Performing usability and functionality testing for AMCC’s board and transport drivers
Experience Requirement:
Qualifications •BS/MS and 0-4 years of Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent •Proficient in C programming and scripting languages such as Perl or TCL •Good understanding or background in hardware driver implementation •Must be capable of reading and understanding, a pre-existing code base. •Must be capable of reading and comprehending product marketing requirements and engineering design specs. •Good English and Vietnamese communications skills, both verbal and writing. Good teamwork.
Special Skills or Knowledge Required:
Additional skills: Any of the following is highly desirable but not required: •Familiar with Linux programming environment •Background in the implementation and/or testing of peripheral devices such as Ethernet, GiGE, USB, Serial, or PCI is a big plus •Background or knowledge of in transport technologies such as Ethernet/Gigabit •Understanding of the PowerPC architecture is desirable
