#3291 Design Manager

Engineering, Sunnyvale, CA

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Manage the development of SOC products in 90nm technology or smaller COT flow. The individual would be part of a fast pace development who can work efficiently with the design team to meet milestones and schedules and establish state of the art design flow.

Responsible for management of a design team, including design methodology, block level design, IP integration, and top level integration. Work with the verification team in testing the design, at both block and various integration stages including top level. Work with the backend team to meet tape out objectives, including floor-planning and timing closure. Support the architecture, documentation, software, validation, and enablement teams. Interface with IP vendors and tools suppliers.

Individual must create and track development plans, track related development metrics, and report regular project status.

Responsible for personnel management of the team, including hiring, rating, and professional development of team members.


Education Requirement or Equivalent:

BS or MS, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.



Experience Requirement:

BSEE and 8+ years experience, MSEE and 5+ years experience, or Ph.D and 3+ years experience desired, including at least 3 years management experience.

Must have managed a design group before, through all phases of development, from project inception through tapeout, bring up, debug, samples and successful production. Must have good design engineering experience, including RTL coding, synthesis, timing analysis, and verification. Must have experience with design tools (synthesis, STA, RTL Lint, LEC), Cadence or Synopsys preferred.

Experience with NPUs or other networking experience preferred. Also, experience with various standard SOC interfaces (DDR) and high speed interfaces (PCIe, SGMII, XAUI) preferred. Must have experience with complex SOC designs and high speed internal buses including AXI, PLB, etc.

Experience with Microsoft project, or some project planning tool preferred.
